If you don’t have time for a full-on camping trip this weekend to one of these many great getaways, we recently found a miniature version of these amazing parks that’s perfect for a quick pitstop.
The Tyler Nature Center is an 82-acre preserve that is home to many native plants and inhabitants.
Throughout the park you can embark on relatively short hikes that tour you through some of East Texas’ natural wetlands, grasslands, forests and ponds.

There is also an impressive archery range for anyone that wants to improve their bow skills.
Fishing is allowed, but only during official hosted events. And indoor and outdoor meeting places are available upon reservations!
From dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, you can get a peaceful, quick breath of fresh air before heading back into the city.
